Brighter Futures for Children (BFFC) is an independent, not-for-profit-company, wholly owned by Reading Borough Council. Our responsibility is to deliver quality children's services, early help, education and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) services to children and families in Reading. We currently have vacancies for qualified social workers in our Children Looked After team. The Children Looked After Teamwork with children from 5-16 years of age with children in a variety of settings that meet their individual needs. BFFC and the team works in a Trauma-Informed approach to ensure that we understand our children well and work with them in achieving permanence for them. This could be through Long Term Fostering, reunification or Special Guardianship. We start the transition to adult hood via pathway planning where they then progress to our Leaving Care Team to continue their pathway.
You will be joining a well-run, supportive and dynamic team, which benefits from a supportive Consultant Practitioner who is on hand to coach, mentor and provide reflective practice, an Assistant and Team Manager who are there to provide the support and guidance you need. We work closely with our health and education partners as well as our BFFC fostering team and community resources to ensure that our children’s’ needs our met.
We have secured an excellent training programme for our social workers that will help develop and enhance their practice. We as a service value our staff and want to support their progression with us. This is an ideal opportunity for a social worker with a minimum of 2 years post-qualified Experience in Children & Families Social Work to join our teams.
