About usPinecroft is a shared care service offering high quality care for children and young people aged 8-18 years with profound and multiple learning disabilities and associated medical needs. Young people can present behaviours that challenge or may require manual handling support.
About the roleThe staff team support the young people to enable them to lead as full a life as possible. Our aim is to empower young people to achieve and develop skills that will give them a solid foundation to succeed. We further aim to promote social inclusion to access everyday opportunities and community participation.
About you
We are looking for an experienced waking night candidate with a child centred approach and an understanding of the needs of children and young people with disabilities you are empathic, enthusiastic, and work well both individually and within the team.
This is an exciting time to join our experienced and skilled team, as we are looking to develop our service. You will participate in the waking night rota which requires some flexibility and will include some weekend working.
You will be expected to have good written and verbal communication skills, be able to communicate clearly with residents and staff. The ability to read and write clear legible reports is essential and basic IT skills are desirable.
You will require a QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent NVQ qualification or a willingness to undertake this qualification. You will have an ability to manage people and problems tactfully, apply initiative in managing tasks and use observation and reporting skills in Health and Safety and practice issues.
