About the roles We now have an opportunity for an experienced and capable Team Manager to join a dynamic Children's Service who is committed to improving outcomes for children in our SEN Service. Our Team Managers are absolutely critical to driving excellent practice and making things happen. They report directly to a Service Manager and are responsible for delivering services to children through operational management and supervision of the SEN team in addition to providing support with the SEND strategy and preparation for a Local Area inspection.
About youThe TM will be responsible for the good leadership, supervision and general management of their team as well as effective problem solving. The TM will assist the Service Manager in delivering the Special Educational Needs and Disability service outcomes for Children and Young People with disabilities and their Families.The TM will ensure high quality assessments, plans, reviews and casework required are competed to meet Reading Borough Council's (RBC) statutory duties such as phased transfers, to ceasing, initiating, processing and maintaining EHC plans for Children and young people between the ages of 0 - 25 years old. The role involves working in close collaboration with families and professionals.Responsibilities:* To be able to successfully deliver the objectives of this role you will need to possess significant experience in Special Educational Needs and Disability arena either in Education, Social Care or Health. Significant experience of working with parents and families - to be able to deal with challenging situations.* Significant experience of multi-agency working - to have an understanding of the roles of different agencies, to be able to lead multi-agency meetings effectively, manage negotiations, challenge where necessary and mediate if required.* Budget management experience. * You will need to have direct management experience within statutory children's social care / education service where you can demonstrate that you were able to effectively maximise the potential of others.If you think you have the skills, experiences and dedication to work with us as a Team Manager and you are passionate about delivering a high quality service then we would be very interested to hear from you.
