Since 2019 the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) have led a national programme to raise awareness of the impact of parental conflict on children and young people’s mental health and long-term outcomes. The programme has included funding for local areas, to support the workforce increase knowledge and confidence in identifying parental conflict and provide support to reduce its impact on children and young people.
Brighter Futures for Children has been coordinating the Reading area programme which includes delivering a range of training, learning and development opportunities for staff and volunteers across the children, young people, and family’s workforce. We’re excited to have secured further funding and are recruiting a Reducing Parental Conflict Coordinator as a pivotal role in taking forward our plans to further develop the programme. You’ll work closely with the Strategic Lead, Partnership & Prevention, training partners and steering group to drive and deliver the outcomes of the progamme.
This is a real opportunity to make a difference and so you will need passion, be approachable and adaptable and take a problem-solving approach to drive change. You will have confidence and credibility to quickly forge and develop relationships across the workforce, so a demonstrable knowledge and understanding of parental conflict is important.
Although you will be fully supported within a team environment you will need to be proactive and able to work on your own initiative to achieve the targets and outcomes of the programme.
